Safe Passing Distances - A Metre Matters

Every year in Australia, an average of 35 bicycle riders are killed and more than 9,500 are seriously injured.

The strongest approach to provide safety is to legislate for a safe passing distance to provide absolute and practical clarity to West Australian drivers when overtaking bicycle riders. In March 2014, follwoing the successful introduction of a trial in South Australia, Lynn MacLaren introduced the Road Traffic Amendment (Keeping Safe Distances from Bicycles) Bill to the Legislative Council. We need your support to put pressure on members of the other parties as the bill may be up for debate in 2015.

What You Can Do

If you would like to support the campaign to see safer cycling legislation in Western Australia, its time to take action.
