Save Mowen Forest

With each passing day the State Government draws ever closer to logging 1,610 hectares of Margaret River's Mowen Forest; an area the equivalent size of 750 Subiaco ovals worth of native forest.

The proposal to log Mowen Forest is unprofitable, unsustainable and unacceptable yet the government is blindly continuing its support for the dinosaur logging industry.

Through pressure from Lynn MacLaren MLC in parliament the government has already acknowledged the very limited profitability of this venture.

Given it is a haven for many species of threatened native fauna, we need to convince this government that Mowen Forest is worth far more to this State as a tourist attraction - a stunning example of south-west biodiversity - than it is as firewood, woodchips and railway sleepers.

Although there has already been significant community and state-wide support for the protection of Mowen Forest we need your support to maintain pressure on the State Government to abandon this venture.

What you can do

If you would like to support the campaign to see Save Mowen Forest, its time to take action.
