Tackling Gay Prejudice In Schools

03/05/10 - Lynn recently introduced Daniel Witthaus to a meeting hosted by the State School Teachers Union WA.

Daniel is currently on a 'Beyond That's So Gay" tour around Australia. You can see details of the tour on his website www.thatssogay.com.au.

Daniel is a recognised authority in 'challenging' homophobia and has also developed a school-based package calld "Pride and Prejudice: An educational package to challenge homophobia in secondary schools" (with assistance from Dr Daryl Higgins and Dr Ross King). The programme is designed to change student attitudes towards gay men and lesbians.

Although WA laws are in place, we still have a long way to go in challenging homophobia.  Lynn will ask Education Minister Liz Constable to take up the cause.
