ROE HIGHWAY STAGE 8 — PHONE POLL

1029. Hon LYNN MacLAREN to the Minister for Transport:

On 13 October the minister gave an undertaking in response to question without notice 983 to table the questions in AECOM’s South Metro Connect phone poll on Roe 8 “in due course”.

(1) Will the minister now table the questions?

(2) Will the minister also table the survey instructions to pollsters?

(3) What are the target demographic splits by age and sex for the survey population?

(4) What is the target sample size for this survey?

Hon SIMON O’BRIEN replied:

I thank the honourable member for some notice of this question.

(1) It is true that last Tuesday I did say to the member that in due course I would table some information, and, indeed, I will do that. The survey results are yet to be finalised, and my undertaking to release the survey questions to the member was intended to occur upon finalisation of the survey results, and I will do so when they are available. That offer still stands, and I will do it.

(2) The member has asked now if I will table the survey instructions to pollsters. That being the case, I will seek to provide that information at the same time, as one package.

(3) The target demographic splits for the survey population were based on national demographics: a 50-50 gender split with 18 to 35-year-olds representing 30 per cent, and greater than 35-year-olds representing 70 per cent. Those were the age and sex splits.

(4) The target sample size for this survey is an overall sample of 1 200.
