MAIN ROADS WA — PROPERTIES IN HIGH STREET–STIRLING HIGHWAY VICINITY

4600. Hon Lynn MacLaren to the Minister for Finance representing the Minister for Transport

(1) Please list the properties in the vicinity of the intersection of High Street and Stirling Highway in
Fremantle and White Gum Valley owned by Main Roads Western Australia or other State Government
agencies.

(2) Please list the properties owned by Main Roads Western Australia or other State Government agencies located west and east of Stirling Highway between High Street and Marmion Street.

(3) What is the total value of the properties listed in answer to (1) and (2) above?

(4) How many additional properties will need to be acquired to pursue Option 4 to upgrade the intersection of Stirling Highway and High Street?

(5) How many additional properties, if any, will need to be acquired to pursue Option 4a to upgrade the
intersection of Stirling Highway and High Street?

(6) Will the State Government need to acquire any other lands or reserves to pursue Option 4?

(7) Will the State Government need to acquire any other lands or reserves to pursue Option 4a?

(8) How much has the Government budgeted to acquire additional properties for the purpose of upgrading the intersection of Stirling Highway and High Street?

Hon SIMON O’BRIEN replied:

(1) High Street — Nos 276 (vacant lot); 278; 280; 282; 284; 286; 288; 290 (front); 313; 315; 317 (vacant
lot); 321; 325; and 327, Lot 333 Muzz Buzz.

(2) Marmion Street — No 51 (vacant lot); Forrest Street — Nos 48 (vacant lot); 29; 31 (rear); Holland
Street — Nos 74; and 75.

(3) These properties have been purchased between 1980s to April 2011. It would be a significant task to
assemble the total cost in today’s dollars.

(8) The specific cost of additional acquisitions has yet to be determined.
