Question

(1) Over the past eighteen months, how many fires have been reported at 1 Pier Street East Fremantle?


(2) On what dates, and times did these occur?

(3) For each occurrence, -

(a) did the police attend;

(b) did the fire brigade respond; and

(c) what were the causes of each fire?

The Fire and Emergency Services Authority of Western Australia (FESA) advises:

(1) Six Triple Zero calls.

12 Jul 2009 4.18 am Undetermined Yes Suspicious Fire, wheelie bin placed outside upstairs units.
12 Feb 2010 2.45 pm Yes Yes Deliberate fire, small rubbish fire outside two upstairs units.
13 Feb 2010 00.04 am Yes Yes Deliberate fire, small rubbish fire outside of Unit 13.
4 May 2010 7.09 am Yes Yes Deliberate fire, small pile of newspapers outside two upstairs units. Smoke alarm operated in unit.
18 Jul 2010 00.02 am Yes Yes Suspicious fire, cardboard boxes set on fire on second floor landing.
10 Aug 2010 3.54 am Undetermined Yes Deliberate fire, heating fan set alight.

FESA notified police of all these fires in line with procedures. FESA records indicate police were in attendance at four of these fires while fire crews were at the scene. There is no specific reference in the FESA records to police attendance at the other two fires.
