LOT 96 RAILWAY PARADE, BASSENDEAN, FUTURE PLANS
1075. Hon Lynn MacLaren to the Parliamentary Secretary representing the Minister for Planning and
Infrastructure
In regards to the development site at 96 Railway Parade, Bassendean (WAPC reference 125266), I ask -
(1) Can you provide detail about the future plans for the above mentioned site, specifically the process by
which the site is subdivided and developed?
(2) Which Government Agencies will be involved in this process?
(3) What will the Agencies respective roles be in this case?
(4) Will the development include the remediation of contaminants on this site?
(5) What community involvement will be included in this process?
(6) Will the Minister table the strategy for this process and the subsequent results?
(7) What remediation work has been done thus far on the site?
(8) Did the process include community consultation?
(9) Will you table the report?
(10) Has the Lot 96 Railway Parade (WAPC reference 125266) been tested for contamination?
(11) If so, please provide detail?
Hon ADELE FARINA replied:
1. The land is zoned Urban in the Metropolitan Region Scheme. Amendment No. 66 to the Town of
Bassendean Town Planning Scheme No. 3 rezoning the land to Residential R20/30/60 was gazetted
on 2 November 2004. The Western Australian Planning Commission approved a subdivision
creating 114 residential lots and two public open space areas on 14 April 2005.
2. Water Corporation, Western Power, Department of Environment, Town of Bassendean and Western
Australian Planning Commission
3. Clearing agencies for conditions of subdivision.
4. Yes
5. Remediation of the site will be conducted by the proponent and overseen by the Department of
Environment. The question should be referred to the Minister for Environment.
