GOVERNMENT REFUSES TO SUSPEND THE PERTH WATER FRONT PROJECT
The government will still go ahead with the Perth waterfront development despite a petition by more than 20,000 people opposing it. Hon Lynn MacLaren once again raised the issue in parliament citing the fact that prominent Perth professionals have highlighted a greater need for permanent owner-occupier residents rather than the increase of office accommodation that the government is aiming for.
Ms MacLaren earlier questioned what the impact of the development would be on the stormwater discharges from the Mounts Bay main drain and the associated catchments.
